Kossel pattern     KSLStrain    Kossel pattern

Interface

The program interface is composed of the menus (0), picture (pattern) box (4) and a number of command buttons. Their functions are described below.

- Menus. Noteworthy are

- "Pattern" to load a pattern or a set of patterns (the same as menu File/Open pattern). The arrows are for navigating between patterns of a loaded set.

- Name of currently displayed pattern.

- Pattern number / number of loaded patterns.

- Pattern box. The mouse has the following functions in this box:

- A marking point on a Kossel line.

- Marker of the area used for calculating the line profile and the profile box. There are two profiles in the profile box and two different areas covered by the marker; the corresponding entities have the same color. The edge of the marker indicated by a dot corresponds to the left side of the profile box.

- Hide and display marked lines.

- Clear marked lines; deletes all lines for the displayed pattern.

- Call the settings tabs; the same effect as menu Settings.

- Kinematically simulated line diagram for the current settings.

- Fine-tuning box; changes settings based on kinematically simulated line diagram.

- Fitting pattern center based on the geometry of Kossel lines.

- Fitting pattern center and sample-to-detector distance based on orientation and geometry of Kossel lines.

- Indexing of marked lines.

- Save data (settings and locations of lines) for the displayed pattern.

- Determination of strain components, pattern centers and/or camera lengths.

- Frame for profile-based determination strain.

- Inversion of grayscale.
