In the middle of this month I took part in a seminar entitled: “Inżynieria Materiałowa dla przemysłu” which was held in Krynica. I gave a speech entitled “Zastosowanie techniki 3D-EBSD do badań mikrostruktury ceramiki cyrkonowej”. The meeting was a good opportunity to learn what are the demands of polish industry concerning materials science.

In April my attention has been focused on analysis of endothelial cell adhesion results for the genipin cross-linked coatings. Moreover, I prepared similar samples for HUVECs viability and functionality determination during long-term cell culture. I also performed the ATR-FTIR measurements of PLL/HA multilayer coatings cross-linked with various genipin concentration. The results obtained so far were presented at Materials Science for Industry Symposium. The main objective of my speech entitled "Polyelectrolyte multilayer biomimetic coatings for surface modification of cardiovascular devices" was to show industry representatives the direction of current research work in the field of the heart supporting systems development.
