2. GBToolbox - a program for analysis of grain boundaries:
GBToolbox is written in Java, so in order to run it, Java Runtime Environment (at least ver. 1.7) must be installed. To start the program, it should be enough to double-click the GBToolbox_[os].jar file, you may also use the command
java -jar GBToolbox_[os].jar
in your system's console.
For importing DREAM.3D files, native HDF libraries are used, so be sure to download the version that is correct for your operating system. If you import large data sets, you will most likely need to run the program from the command line with an additional option -Xmx which specifies the amount of memory that GBToolbox can use, e.g.,
java -Xmx2G -jar GBToolbox.jar
